8 February 2012
Dear parents / Caregivers
It is with a lot of regret that I am writing this letter to inform you that I will be leaving Weymouth Intermediate School at the end of this week, on Friday 10 February.
The reason for my departure is because I have been appointed to the position of Principal at Glenfield Primary. I had intended to stay at Weymouth Intermediate for the next couple of weeks, but I now need to have an operation next week and the Board have allowed me to leave earlier than expected.
The Board have appointed Mrs Joy Wiseman to the position of Acting Principal until a permanent Principal is appointed. Mrs Wiseman will be attending the ‘Meet the Teacher Evening’ tonight and would love to have a chance to meet and talk to you.
I would like to thank all the parents, whanau, caregivers and members of the community who have supported me over the years and helped the school in so many ways. I am going to miss the wonderful teachers and the amazing children that I have had the privilege to work with over the last 10 years.
I know that the school will move forward in a new direction under the leadership of a new Principal and I wish everyone all the best for the future.
A farewell assembly will be held on Friday 10 February at 11.30am and you are welcome to join us for this.
Many thanks
Yours Sincerely
Chris Cooper
PRINCIPAL
