Welcome
Kia Ora, Talofa, Kia Orana, Malo e Lelei, Fakalofa Lahi Atu, Greetings
Weymouth Intermediate School is a two year, co-educational school catering for students aged 11 – 13 years.
The staff at Weymouth Intermediate School are committed to achieving excellence, and feel confident that their emphasis on quality learning and teaching will equip your child for secondary school. We have strong links with all our local contributing and high schools.
The school is divided into four syndicates which includes two Maori bi-lingual classes, two Samoan enrichment classes, one ESOL class and a gifted and talented class. All classes are composite having students from both year 7 and year 8.
Weymouth Intermediate School has unique characteristics and strengths that are appropriate for meeting the needs of emerging adolescents. We are a school that celebrates cultural diversity and have strengths in cultural groups and performing arts. We also excel in sport and have won many sport competitions in the Auckland zone.
We provide a safe and welcoming environment for students so that they enjoy attending school each day. Our Respect programme ensures that our students are regularly taught universal values, and this is reflected in the schoolwide culture.
The safety and well-being of our students is a top priority for us. To achieve this we co-ordinate a weekly Awhi meeting which includes our on-site counsellor and representatives from the educational support agencies. We also organize a challenging lunchtime programme involving up to fifteen shield sports to actively engage students in positive ways.
Do take the time to view our school curriculum and the unique approach to inquiry learning that has been developed and implemented by our innovative staff.
